Merchant Center - what we do with it

Why we look at your Google Merchant Center, what we read from it, and how it makes easy.ads + easy.listing better.

WHAT THE MERCHANT CENTER ACTUALLY IS

Google Merchant Center (GMC for short) is Google's central place for product data - title, price, availability, image. From this data, Performance Max and Shopping campaigns build your ads.

If you use easy.ads, on request we also check your GMC - you grant us access once via Google sign-in.

WHY WE WANT THIS

We want to know what product data you give Google, so we can:

  • see if you're burning money on items that are out of stock or

rejected by Google,

  • match what's in an ad with the actual product state (same

image language? same price?),

  • rate listing quality even when your shop connector isn't

currently syncing.

Without GMC we work with approximations from your listings table. With GMC we work with the same truth Google sees.

WHAT WE READ

Once a day we fetch:

  • Product list - title, brand, GTIN, price, image, availability

(in stock / out of stock / preorder), target country, language.

  • Status per product - has Google rejected the product? Are

there warnings? Which?

Nothing more. No customer data, no orders.

HOW THIS MAKES EASY.ADS BETTER

  • Audit "stock x ad spend": We know your real inventory and see

immediately when a campaign advertises sold-out items. Saving suggestion in the audit tab.

  • Audit "disapproval x spend": Rejected products are invisible

in shopping/PMax delivery - we flag them as priority fixes.

  • Campaign builder: Sees which products are actually in the feed

and suggests only sensible campaign types.

HOW THIS MAKES EASY.LISTING BETTER

  • We compare the listing state in your shop with what you delivered

to Google - drift becomes obvious (e.g. when your shop updates a price but the feed sync fails).

  • When Google rejects a product due to image policy, that feeds into

the Internal Rank and shows up as a concrete finding in listing optimization.

WHAT YOU SEE

On the easy.ads page, in the Active campaigns tab, at the bottom a collapsible area Merchant Center feed:

  • How many products we have synced (last updated when).
  • Available / out of stock at a glance.
  • Rejected / with warning with first examples.
  • Preview table of the last 100 products.

Default is collapsed - the numbers show only when you open it, which saves loading time for all other actions.

TRUST

  • We have read-only access - nothing is changed in your GMC.
  • Data stays in your tenant. Anonymized branch stats flow into the

global pool, but never your product text or images.

  • You can disconnect any time on /connections/ - the access is

revoked at Google, locally stored product data is cleared on the next sync.
